I edit menus manually myself.
You can go into hidden .icewm or .fluxbox folders in you /home/username/.icewm
Move around menu entries with copy and paste in text editor. Epiphany with be in the applications text file in either of those 2 folders. I use leafpad or geany to edit text files.
I also recommend making backups of the original text file before you go editng. In case you make a mistake. You have the backed up original one to fall back on.
Dave will probably weigh in on this post later or some other member who can walk you through how to use the menu update scripts.

The menu update scripts from what I understand (after breaking them down and rebuilding them) update the menu using the xdg menu system, which I am seeing automatically searches all the known desktop entry folders. It then takes the dekstop entries out of the folder, finds the Categories line and places it in the correct category based on what categories are listed on this line. If you wanted to change this you would need to edit the category line in the appropriate .desktop. The most common area for these files is /usr/share/applications. (you will need to be root to do this ). The only other way to get around this is to make the changes as posted by rokytnji.rokytnji wrote:Dave will probably weigh in on this post later or some other member who can walk you through how to use the menu update scripts.
I am not sure of a gui program for doing this, but I am making one as I am working on trying to make a fluxbox DE. There are allot of complications with the fluxbox menu that i will need to find a way around.913ace wrote:thanks for being helpful i will try this. do u know of a gui program though for editing menus in fluxbox? surely i will be back with a question prolly. lol
