If someone wants to activate more than one F4 option, how is that accomplished?

? Choose one during a given boot + F8 save...
then during a later boot can choose another F4 option and again F8 save (without displacing the earlier saved entry)
or
if any F4 option is already selected / saved, any other F4 option(s) must be activated by typing arg=value to custom bootline?
