When i installed the antiX-15 OS i immediately installed all updates but when i tried to transfer some text files to the desktop from a dvd-rw as soon as i removed the dvd-rw the links in the text files wouldn't work? Could someone tell me how i might resolve this problem please.

Copy the files from your dvd to somewhere in your home diretory and from there make the links to the desktop.

the default rox desktop is not a folder in the tradiitional desktop metaphor sense. Its a"pinboard" of short cut links. So instead of copying files from the dvd to the desktop, you actually just made links. so when the dvd was removed, the links quit working.

If you are looking for a more traditional desktop, where the desktop is actually a folder, try the spacefm desktop.
