Could testers running antiX live from a stick or from a frugal install with persistence try installing the propritary drivers via sgfxi (not smxi as it will error) and see on reboot if it works.
Same without persistence, but immediateely after the drivers are installed, use the cli-installer to install to hard drive and again test to see if you can boot into a desktop running your proprietary driver.

This is from my live USB that I made from an antixsnapshot. Probably 3 or 4 snapshot remasters down the road.
Using sgfxi the prop. drivers installed and worked both on the"live" and on the"live w/persist".
Then I remastered the"live w/ persist" and the remaster booted and prop. drivers worked fine.
I am not going to be able to install to a hard drive as the owner of this laptop may get a little upset but if the remaster retained the drivers then I can't see why an install would fail.
