We have made some bug fixes to the gui installer and we need some testers with a Windows partition to ..test it all works ok.
I guess it doesn't matter which version of windows is installed. The installer will install as usual, but hopefully write a correct windows entry in the menu.lst file.
Post here if you can help with this and which version of antiX (32 or 64 bit).
You will need the antiX-13 iso on a stick, cd/dvd or frugal hard drive.
All you will have to do is boot from the antiX-13.iso, download the latest antiX-installer and then install to hard drive and let us know if the windows entry was correctly added to the menu.lst and it boots ok.

I can do this. Do I update the installer from the antix-repos for is there a different process?

I used a 32 bit antix base on a stick, and installed to a windows7 home premium 64 bit machine, and it works fine!
No issues, that has anything to do with the installer...
The biggest problem now, is that windows is still working after a filesystem check.

Anyone got windows running on a second (or third partition or drive)?
Most dual booters I guess will have windows on sda.
If anyone has windows on sdb/c etc and a linux on sda, please test out the new installer.
(I don't have windows to test)

Well, I was not allowed more time with that machine now, sorry, he wanted it back...
The only thing I can say just now, is that with windows on two partitions, on each side of antix, it would only find the first one, like in the post above...
I will try again, if I find a spare machine a few hours

Hi:
Anyone tried installing antix on a machine that came with windows 8?
I want to preserve windoze for now (it's a work machine). I'm not sure if I should repartition the windows partition from within windows and then install antix on the new partition or do the partitioning from antix.
I've also thought about letting ubuntu or sabayon do the dual-boot install and then write over them with antix. Kind of a roundabout way of doing things, I guess.

I resized the main windows partition from within windows. Then created a root partition, a home partition and a swap partition from within antix (64) and installed antix.
The good news is that the install did not mess up windows 8 (er...more than it's already messed up, that is __{{emoticon}}__
The bad news is that I can't boot up antix at all. Grub is not coming up.
Any suggestions.
Thanks.
Pedro
EDIT:
Ok. I did a reinstall just to make sure and the problem still persists. I'm choosing to install grub in the MBR (root is not an option) and Antix does not boot up. I checked the partitions and all the files are there.
Any suggestions?
thanks.
