WTF! Yes, you can install MATE desktop on antiX and it will be free of systemd (libsystemd0 to be precise).
Available in the antiX jessie, testing and sid repos.
Have fun customising to all trying it out!

can we know who packaged this, and where to find the debsrc repo (or git source repo)?

I hope to read"mate-system-monitor_1.16.0-2.0nosystemd1.debian.tar.xz"
( referenced here:

url was:"http://antix.daveserver.info/repo/sid/nosystemd/dsc/mate-system-monitor_1.16.0-2.0nosystemd1.dsc"
linktext was:"http://antix.daveserver.info/repo/sid/n ... stemd1.dsc"

)
and to figure out where to submit bug/change requests.

The .desktop file for"mate-system-monitor" declares OnlyShowIn:Mate for no damn good reason.
Hopefully whoever is repackaging will be willing to rectify papercuts like these if we point them out.

I packaged the parts that depend on systemd or libsystemd0.

github repo (for stretch/sid) here:

thx for github. I forked it and made the quick edit, but will wait to send pull request until I can test w/ a stretch-based install.
Under antiX+jessie, the"OnlyShownIn" restriction is clearly unnecessary.

If you create a github repo for"gufw", I can push the fix described here so that it can be tested/verified by others.

The"stretch" version (gufw v17.x), I'm surprised you would consider adding that to antiX.
As seen in MX, the newer gufw series brings a 77Mb+"gir1.2-webkit2-4.0" dependency
(for the sake of displaying its helpdocs within a webkit-powered GUI pane)

The stretch version is for when antiX moves to ...stretch. Sometime this year.
