topic title: System-config-samba not working in Antix 15

I just installed the .deb file from this page:

http://main.mepis-deb.org/mepiscr/repo/pool/main/s/system-config-samba/
When I try and launch it nothing happems. What should I do so I can set up my Samba shares.

assuming that the wheezy version in the mepiscr works in Jessie based antix 15, you probably need to also install samba which is not installed by default in antix.

I think I will wait for you to do a video of how to set up shares in this latest version so it is easy for newbies. Much appreciated!!

I haven't used it, but there's also a MX-15/jessie system-config-samba package in the mx repo.

The repo is already present (but disabled by default) in the antiX-15 sources, in the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mx.list file

I saw these videos before. I was just wondering if anything changed in Antix 15 that warrants new videos.

Thanks for the shoutout to the vids! the"LinuxLiteSamba Server" video info should still be"current". samba is samba afterall. the only real difference is that restarting samba is done with

#service samba restart
and of course the fact that samba server is not installed by default in antiX. its available in the metapackage installer though.
