topic title: Switching antiX kernels, how-to and cavetats ?

All in title, nearly !
Switching between kernel versions, is it as easy as choosing one in Synaptic & applying the change? Would it break some installed software packets ? Issues if later switching back to 4.9 ? Other caveats ?
