When an application closes suddenly, is that an indication of insufficient memory? Most notable application is Browser. My laptop is tricked out to a max of 256MB of RAM, so is there a way to activate or increase the size of a swap file?
Thanks.
Howard

Hi Howard:
I'm a Linux newbie myself, but I don't think that the sudden closing of an app is an indication of low memory. By the way, I'm running Antix on an old Dell Inspiron 7500 with 256 RAM and it runs great.
Are there any messages when the browser closes?
Regards,
Pedro

256 should be lots for Antix. How big is the /swap. I would make it at least 256 as well. Are there any errors when it crashes?

Try launching the app from a terminal. This way any errors will be echoed to the terminal.
