Is there a way to add a station's online feed to streamcast2? Barring that, what application would you suggest as a replacement? I would like to be able to import URLs and, perhaps, whittle down the existing list to only my favorites. While streamtuner2 does have a bookmark option under the Station menu, it does not seem to support bookmarking feeds not already listed. I would either like to be able to add feeds from tunein.com or add the station's direct streaming feed, Thanks.

The only alternative I've used is"radiotray". I liked it, but it has too many dependencies (installing it to antix adds 53MB).
Streamtuner is really just a"directory UI". You might consider not bothering to add custom listings there.
Instead, add 'em as favorites in whatever app/player (audacious?) streamtuner is handing the stream over to, for playback.
how to, within the streamTuner2 program:
right-click ANY listed stream/station and click"bookmark", then visit"bookmarks" --} favorites
In the edit dialog, you can either EDIT the bookmarked item properties
- OR - click the 'new' button displayed therein.
It's a quirk: you need to have at least one favorite'd item, otherwise you can't get to the 'new' button inside the dialogbox.
After you add the new item, you'll see its name displayed to the list as 'new'... until you click elsewhere, then return to the favorites pane.
(It's another quirk: the tab content isn't immediately updated when you EDIT or create a NEW bookmark/favorite entry.)
So, click away then re-display the bookmarks tab, and you'll see correctly displayed names for any edited and/or just-added items.

Does anyone know if there is any way (easy or not) to add feeds from tunein.com in either streamtuner2 or Radio Tray? (I also could not open those feeds directly in xmms.) The web pages with the feeds have URLs such as
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://tunein.com/radio/Bluegrass-Radio-s250032/"
linktext was:"http://tunein.com/radio/Bluegrass-Radio-s250032/"
====================================
. I tried to edit an existing streamtuner2 feed (after adding it as a bookmark), but I can't seem to make it work, and maybe it's not possible. One channel I tried to add did launch xmms, but I end up in an endless loop of pre-buffering. Two other channels I tried to add do nothing. All three were added using the same format of an existing station in streamtuner2 that does work (also a tunein station):

url was:"http://yp.shoutcast.com/sbin/tunein-station.pls?id=555413"
linktext was:"http://yp.shoutcast.com/sbin/tunein-sta ... ?id=555413"
====================================
, so I'm not sure why these three don't work. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I tried this in both streamtuner2 and Radio Time without success. Good thought, though.skidoo wrote:tunein.com (I've never visited previously, FWIW)

Now I should probably re-install antiX-15 so I can clean out some of the extra apps I installed (such as Radio Time) and their multitude of dependencies that were installed in an effort to get these feeds working without also having to launch the web browser.
EDIT: This does appear to work with stations directly linked through tunein but may not work with stations that are part of the i heart radio network. (I suspect it may depend on the type of feed being offered - mp3 vs. aac, unless such feeds might work with audacious.)
Okay, that worked! (I just had to pick the right link as the feed I was interested in had three to choose from. Tip: If presented with links for mp3 and aac feeds, choose the mp3. In my case at least, the mp3 URL is the one that worked.) Thank you so much!skidoo wrote:according to this:
