Hi, I'm an absolute beginner and I have an old Dell Latitude with a Mobile Penti 3.
AntiX is a possibility to run this old hardware properly. To bring it into my home network, I tried to implement an Edimax Nanostick.
Starting Ceni shows a wlan connect. Scanning networks I see my home network, but DHCPDISCOVER fails!
No idea how to change.
Tx in advance.

Edited post and took cruft out of chatbox so members can see where the OP is at.

Try and keep troubleshooting out of chat box guys.

It just makes everything chaotic and helps no one.

I think seeing how you have the module not found you are having the same trouble as I have had with my rtl8188, which I guess is slightly different than your rtl8188cus.

I think would be worth trying the install instructions here

Maybe they will get you going with the proper driver

Hi,
I followed the full install instruction with no effect.
With ceni I can see the wlan0 and connect to my Homenet.
But I do not get DHCPOFFERS and no working releases. It's also not possible to do the connect a second time. I have to remove the wpa-Supplicant and the stick itself manually. After reconnecting stick I can start ceni again and try to connect, but same same.
I've done this for many times but no progress.

Any help is appreciated!

Update:
I found a patch for realtek at ubuntu-forum and it works
With Ceni the Edimax stick is now running. I still have error messages during ceni-installation and WICD do still not find any WLAN. And: it is not fix! After Antix-restart I have to install the stick via ceni again.
Seem to be more work to do.
Any help is appreciated!
