Is anyone else getting pop ups when they are reading threads?

I am not getting these on any other pages with this browser.

Thanks.

No. Take a screenshot and post it in your reply so we can see what you mean.

I use

to copy and paste uploaded image urls like my screenshots to the forum. Once uploaded to their site. They supply the link to post in your next reply.

I am making the assumption that you are getting the pop-ups while using a browser in antiX or MX-14. Which browser are you using?

If you are using windoze to read through the forum AND getting pop=ups, that explains it. windoze.

And if you are talking about the ad banner that some forums get at the top with, someone has to pay the bills.

There are pop-ups if you mouse over or click some of the ads... that I have seen.... but really I only see that on a computer I do not use regularly. For the computers that I use regularly I install ghostery and then I see no advertisement.

I was having spam like popups when using my wife's iPad (blush).

I am trying now with my laptop using Debian. (I just installed antiX on a USB drive, and I have a lot of stuff on my Debian install, so I spend a lot of time on that.)

So far (few minutes) only an expected rollover popup.

When I get back to the USB Killah install, I will check out if it happens on that.

For now, I will blame it on iOS...

Keep in mind that we're not necessarily all seeing the same behavior.
Targeted marketing ~~ you (or I) might get a bye because a given campaign isn't targeting suchandsuch O/S, or browser, or time of day, or geographic IP lookup

Hmm, another possibility: might stevedude have a malicious/ad-supported browser extension installed?

That is a possibility. I had an extension from a ppa for Ubuntu I tried and kept getting ads pop-ups. I deleted that extension.
