A few questions about the upcoming version of Antix.

Will users of 13.2 be able to upgrade or will a clean install be necessary?

Can the distro be rooled back to the current Antix kernel if the newer kernel does not work on one's computer? (can smxi do this? essentially just installing a bugfix but keeping the kernel that seems to like ones machine:)

I just did a re-install of 13.2 to my old presario 2100 after manjaro did evil things to my HDD:( Some things I noted with the clean install:

I chose the HP Laptop option this time which I had not tried before and now my brightness control seems more responsive; still need to test other special keys to see if some that did not work with previous installs are working with this option.

I went with Wheezy rather than testing and am happy with the stability. I am an oddball in that I never use Libreoffice so I got rid of it and other things I don't use like Dillo and PPP and installed the Latex meta + Lyx all running flawlessly.

I chose the ICEWm-SpaceFM desktop this time rather than the default and am happy with the minor change in looks; The disappearing icons bug has appeared once upon boot but turning the DE off then on fixed it. Also had a weird glitch the first time I selected a new wallpaper it only appeared behind the conky; againg turning DE off then on fixed it and upon subsequent wallpaper changes this has not happened again.

I am extremely happy with Antix 13.2 on the laptop which I use to write and browse(o.k. I play Solarwolf too:)) I will try to give you guys some $ support once my wife and I wade through her medical bills. THANK YOU for providing a system that works and my itch to try new things on the laptop is over Antix 13.2/Wheezy stays till Wheezy dies with the exception that I may upgrade to the next version of Antix.

zarg2 - if you want stability, just stick to antiX-13.2. Since antiX-13(.1/.2) is based on Debian Wheezy, it will be supported for years with only security updates and any improvements to the antiX apps we consider useful that can be installed using synaptic/apt-get.

antiX-14 will be 'rolling' - based on Debian Testing and there is no going back to Wheezy.
