Doing a new install of antiX base (this may be 7.0 and not 7.01 as there are also 250+ upgrades!), it stops the upgrade with an error regarding tzdata? This is a fresh install, no changes yet, Mepis repo still commented out. I had to remove tzdata, which also removes some key component. I had to answer apt with 'Yes, do as I say!' lol . When it finished, I tried to re-install tzdata, but it says its already installed. I do not remember what the key component it removed was.

Hmmm....that's interesting. Have you encountered any adverse effects in the operation of antiX since the upgrades? Also, does tzdata work for you?

I dont know yet, this is happening as we type. It finished upgrading after I removed the components. It seems ok. I do not even really know what tzdata is except a guess, Time Zone? I'll see what happens next time I reboot it. __{{emoticon}}__

Yep, that's exactly what it's for....to set your timezone. To use it, open your terminal and, as superuser, type
dpkg-reconfigure tzdata

It will give you country / city options to set your timezone.

Thanks for the reply.

Well I dug thru my massive Linux CD collection and found one I had labled as antiX base 7.01.. and re-installed. This time no tzdata error when I upgraded. So it must have been the 7.0 base and not the 7.01 that has this problem.
