Hi everyone again,

Gotta laugh at it all. New computer goes kaboom after two days of diligent tweaking!

1- The now new new computer is doing strange things. The session is not loading at startup. I have to kill the app ever time or else I have the dialogue box saying: Session Loading. But nothing happens.

2- How do I upgrade to the latest Firefox? I tried Control System Manage Package, but it only has FF 45. I'd like at least FF 50. Same thing with the Meta Package, which only has the latest from the MX repo. I'm trying to figure this out right now, as I'm stuck and cannot write from Gmail. It's not taking my keyboard input only there and not in other tabs.

3- Finally, does anyone know how to install the latest AMD Radeon RX-480 video card driver?

I'm not sure if 2014 AMD chips are covered. Wait on someone else I guess.

For the Mozilla problem. I'd rename the hidden mozilla folder in /home/username/.mozilla

Firefox v45.8-esr, because it was an"extended service release", contains all security updates issued up until
the release of v52, so I would choose v45.8-esr or v52.01-esr (nothing in between).

Both"Firefox 52.0.1" and"Firefox ESR 52.0.1" include a fix for the exploit which was recently publicized via the Pwn2Own contest

For me, antiX-15-V_x64 is a distant memory.
Someone else might be able to report whether antiX15+ff52 is possible, and what"gotchas" may be expected.

Not sure if he was chewed on by a bigger dog or smacked by a car. I got him in healing mode. I get a lot of vet supplies off the internet with mail.

Right now I am gonna throw him in the claw foot bathroom cast iron tub outside of my shop and wash him down. So far. I think most of the blood came from a head wound.

I tried installing from a new CD I burned but Windows was giving me problems. I used the old Anitx and it worked. I did sudo apt-get update and dist-upgrade and assumed it upgraded it as per the antix mainpage.

You need to add the following entry in /etc/apt/sources.list or a new file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/:
So. Antix Control Center > System > Edit Config files

Now you are prompted for password. Xo type it in and hit enter.

I'll put it in Various list. It should be on your tool bar

Your various list should now look like mine < I added the Debian Mozilla Team line with a comment/hash tag myself. For knowing what the repo is for and where it came from>

If you have gdebi installed. Open the download with that. If not. Download the deb and install with dpkg -i command while being in that folder you downloaded it to.

Firefox Toolbar > Print > left click on print to file in the box window. > Pick a Name > Pick folder to save it to <Buttons>

There's something weird here. It didn't work. I'll try it again.

I see the mozilla Debian option unhashed under various. In fact, I've been trying ti install Palemoon with no success.

Maybe I need to update to Antix 16? I thought I did when I did dist-upgrade.

As far as using FF 52.01, the reasons are many. A few of my addons are acting up and I really, really, really want to watch Netflix from here __{{emoticon}}__

I backed up .mozilla dir & installed ff52-esr to check whether
-- Does it respect (preserve) pre-existing custom preferences stated in prefs.js ?
-- Does it, along with apulse, deliver sound playback ?

Sadly, the outcome was NO (dammit!) and no.

It's like... a"date rape" scenario.
On first run, ff52-esr re-enabled"datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled"
and repopulated the"google.safebrowsing" server URLs across various prefkeys
and reset"pdfjs.disabled" to false
and added a new, unwanted, happyshit pref"dom.push.connection.enabled=true"

With pulseaudio installed, youtube HTML5 sound playback worked, but...
(?blame the kernel ?blame 32-bit O/S)
for the first time EVER, I'm noticing nearly 100% CPU load when I move the mouse or attempt to multitask during video playback. So, my takeaway from testing was"technically-speaking, ff52 is working... but is not a keeper, would not be suitable for youtube playback on this machine".

For pale moon. I made a separate text file in /etc/apt/sources.list/palemoon.list

Notice I named it palemoon list. I saved the file. Deb repo in that file reads as so inside of my made text file.

Save that entry and now close everything.

No key ring installation that I know of is required

Not my problemo bro, because I aint gonna install it __{{emoticon}}__ . But my steps were correct. No? I have no interest in running Firefox 52 in AntiX myself. Just showing how it is done is all.
Firefox being PITA is not my concern, really. I roll with SeaMonkey myself instead.

Now back to installing palemoon.

Session is now loading after upgrading to Antix 16, as well as FF 52.01

Next AMD RX video driver... and a few start up app issues.
