(re) What repository has latest Antix kernels?
Per shoutbox: ...enable Daves testing repo and apt-get update and then look around then...

Thanks, rokytnji for the reply. I'm running"testing" and enabled Dave's testing repo (deb

testing nosystemd main), but found no new Antix kernels there. I have 4.0.5 installed and have been upgrading using Liquorix for quite a while now, but their 4.10x series have some minor issues, so wanted to try Antix's latest vsn. Do I need the"jessie" (stable) repo or something else?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi, I just looked (via browser)

and see quite a few kernels, including linux-4.10.1-antix*

After"enabling the testing repo", did you followup by performing `apt update` ?

Maybe so, I was using Synaptic, thot I hit the Reload button (apt update), but maybe not. I had upgraded another box the other day that runs Jessie/stable and found 4.10.1 w/no pbm. I activated Jessie/stable for Dave's server here & got 4.10.1 for meself. This morning, I switch Dave's server back from Jessie to Testing, reloaded, and yes, they're there, including 4.10.1 and 4.10.5. Sry for the commotion. One thing, though, I think there should be a"pinned post" that always shows the current officially-sanctioned list of repositories as for each supported release as this would make things much simpler and users directed to it by reply or search could resolve alot of issues and prevent many of these posts, I believe!

Regards,

Jim

I ended up going back to liquorix since the Antix kernel (dmesg) told me there was an IRQ conflict ("snd_hda_intel 0000:00:1b.0: IRQ timing workaround is activated for card #0. Suggest a bigger bdl_pos_adj.") with my sound card; and their latest seemed to fix their performance regression. Liquorix DOES seem to consistantly have the BEST kernels for my HP 8440p laptop (and plays nice with everything ELSE Antix)!
