Howdy,

I'm using antix 16 / 32 bit.
I have to download my mp3 files for"cbs radio mystery theater" to the File Manager.
When I highlight the mp3 file and tick it tells me"No run action specified for files of this type".
To listen to them I have to drag and drop them onto my XMMS Player which isn't a problem.

When I used antix 15.1 I didn't have to do this.
All I had to do was highlight the mp3 file and tick on it started to play using XMMS Player.

So why has this changed.

Thanks

It hasn't. xmms is set by default to play any mp3 file in rox-filer. Are you using a different file manager? Are you using default repos?

Using the file manager that was installed at the time of install.

Using the repos that were installed at the time of install.

I haven't changed anything unless things were changed when I did the first time updates.

It works fine here using rox-filer in antiX-16_X64-full running live. Rox-filer is the second entry from the top in the main desktop menu. When I click on a .mp3 file or a .MP3 file, xmms opens up and plays the file.

you can use the rox-filer"set run action" right click menu option to set it back to xmms .

I went to this link.

========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://download.tuxfamily.org/antix/docs-antiX-15/FAQ/rox.html"
linktext was:"http://download.tuxfamily.org/antix/doc ... Q/rox.html"

and found this:
How can I set the default opening application for a file?

It told me what I needed to do to fix my problem.
Set Run Action.
Enter Shell Command.
xmms"$@"

saved command and it works.
