The instructions for installing the tarball did not work.
I will check out the Debian packages.

I finally got it to work.
I had to install a newer version of Qt.

You gotta be careful with those Ubuntu files. Some will eventually work with"regular" Debian linux while others will never work properly. And it will make you want to pull all your hair out until you realize that it may never work properly on your distro.
