I downloaded antiX-M8.5-686 and burned the ISO to a CD. The MD5 sums of the source and downloaded files are the same and the CD burn verified. When I boot from the CD, I get past the splash screen and end at a black screen that shows"total memory available" and"total memory free" on the first line. After that, nothing!
My system details:
HP Brio BA
Intel Celeron processor 367MHz
256MB RAM
30GB HD
Thanks in advance for any suggestions on how to get this running.
Tom

Hi,
the 1st try to isolate the problem should be to use the cd on another box.

Hello:
try typing nodma in the boot options. This worked for me in an old laptop.
Good luck!

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. I typed in"nodma" at the end of the line in the boot options box and the cd booted. I'm not sure what that actually did that made the difference but it's working.
I do appreciate the fast and helpful response.
