Have only just started using antiX and still feeling my way around so to speak. Now i like making my own webpages/sites and perhaps its just me but i can't help disliking using Dillo and i still can't see how i can make iceweasel open my text files for me. So i have downloaded firefox-35.0.1.tar.bz2 the only problem now is how can i install firefox? Anyone please.

Unzip it in /home/boney.

Go into the folder firefox and left click firefox to make sure it opens.

Then make a Icewm menu or toolbar launcher with the path

/home/boney/firefox/firefox

or drag and drop firefox launcher in folder firefox if using rox pinboard to your desktop and pick symlink relative. Then right click it and look for set icon. Left click that.
Then look in /home/boney/firefox folder and poke around till you find firefox icon. Drag and drop that into the set icon window.

Happy trails, rok.

Edit: you will be updating firefox through firefox browser under the help section on firefox toolbar.

That's generally how I install Firefox. In my case I unzipped the tarball into the bin directory in my home folder and then made a menu entry for it as well as putting it into my launcher app (wbar)

I prefer real Firefox over Iceweasel as there seems to be so many niggling bugs within Iceweasel that aren't in regular Firefox.
