Hello:
I installed 8.2 on my desktop, and now I can't keep the ethernet connection going for more than 1 or 2 minutes. I have to restart the modem to get the connection going again. I've been using wicd, and tried dchcp and dhclient, both with the same problem.

This ethernet was working fine before (with 8.0). Any suggestions?

If restarting the modem fixes it then I would think it's the issue.

Yes, I thought so too, but it had been working great with 8.0 and my other wireless computers don't have a problem. So I went back to the live cd and it wasnt happening there. I did another reinstall and it seems to have fixed it.. So far. Weird, eh?

It could have been just a flakey connection at that time??

Don't think so. Other laptops were connected to the router and did not have any problems. I had also tried rebooting the puter several time and the modem too, before I went with the renistall.

Odd though.
