Topic: End of Support or life for antiX 13.2
If anyone knows and can support answer(s) with a reference other than a developer/moderator, please feel free to answer the following questions.

Questions:
1. What is the end of support date for antix 13.2?
2. If no date has been set, approximately how long (Month and Year) can I used antiX 13.2 before support ends?
3. Is antiX 13.2 considered a long term support distribution?
4. Does antiX terminology distinguish between end of life and end of support?

I have tried to find the answer to the above questions and have failed.
Reason for questions:
Interested to try this version which seems to match my computer and personal needs.
Thank You,
Bob

If you use antix 13.2 with the wheezy debian repos (the default), you'll get security updates for as long as debian wheezy is supported, likely at least 18 months as the current stable and another year of security updates after that as"old stable".

antix 14 (currently in development, no release date set) will using the debian testing repos, so if you are looking for the equivalent of a long term support release, stick with the 13 series (this is what I run on my main system).

antix does maintain two repos for its own apps, stable and testing, so we should be good there.

debian recently allowed long term support for the current"old stable" debian 6 (squeeze) until 2016 (5 years from release in 2011). There is reason to believe, although its not yet set, that the current stable (wheezy) will follow the same track.

I hope that helps.

Errrrr, My AntiX 11 is not dead yet.

My 13.2 won't never die either. But. I don't run stable/wheezy on either one that won't die.

Like D.O. mentioned. I bet even if running wheezy. And one changed repos to testing or unstable. Their support would be everlasting also like mine.

So, post

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxr
so we can see exactly what you are talking about.

Howdy and Welcome by the way Bob.

Happy Trails, Rok

Hi rokytnji,
Please let me know what for and why I should evoke command:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxr
so we can see exactly what you are talking about.
I tried to find out what this command does and could not find anything. Because I do not know enough about the command to enter it, I feel uncomfortable in entering it.
Thank You,
Bob

Every where you see etc. It ised to say /etc. I removed the"/" on those because of a forum bug that will say

You don't have permission to access /posting.php on this server.

So remove any / in front of etc. OK?

Try 'inxi --help' to see what it does . Reading the help could not be harmful.

I tried the script command on working computer (Minit 16) and it worked. Thanks. The old e-machine computer that I wanted to initially to try to install antiX is down now, so I will post the information when working.
