Now that i'm on sid, i got a new debian screen while booting or shutting down the box. I tried looking in inittab and grub menu.lst, but don't see it. Does anybody know how to disable it? Thanks...

Edit your /boot/grub.menu.lst and change"splash" to"nosplash"
