After xbindkeys in terminal at begining it wrote an error, something of a file from home forder missing, something.rc cant really remember, it does not display this anymore, but after writing xbindkeys in terminal and suspend the computer, not log out, suspend, i am able to use the FN keys. Not the multimedia and wifi button though.

any ideas? I could add xbindkeys in startup but what do I do with the suspend? Starting the comp and then suspend it? __{{emoticon}}__

SOLVED: install xbindkeys, add them to startup, suspend laptop, power again and they work.

any idea about how to use xev and if it will get somewhere ?

Code: Select all

usage: xev [-options ...]
where options include:
-display displayname X server to contact
-geometry geom size and location of window
-bw pixels border width in pixels
    -bs {NotUseful,WhenMapped,Always} backingstore attribute
    -id windowid use existing window
    -root use root window
    -s set save-unders attribute
    -name string window name
    -rv reverse video
    -event event_mask select 'event_mask' events
Supported event masks: keyboard mouse expose visibility structure
                                  substructure focus property colormap
                                  owner_grab_button randr
This option can be specified multiple times to select multiple
           event masks.

Yes, I run AntiX netbooks and laptops and desktops.

Like D.O. Says. I have seen bios hardblock wireless by being turned off in bios.

My netbooks and Laptops are not as old as yours though though my IBM t23 is pretty old but there is thinkpad acpi support in synaptic for my thinkpad.
