Dear ,
May I install to one partition slitaz 4.0 with MX14RC ? I want to look how is working slitaz (not live) ? MX14RC better than slitaz , but I want to install slitaz to harddisk . Now I have
Drives: HDD Total Size: 200.1GB (4.2% used)
ID-1: /dev/sda model: WDC_WD1200JB size: 120.0GB (windows XP)
ID-2: /dev/sdb model: WDC_WD800BB size: 80.0GB (MX14RCfinal non-pae version)
Partition: ID-1: / size: 72G used: 6.0G (9%) fs: ext4 dev: /dev/sdb1
ID-2: swap-1 size: 2.17GB used: 0.00GB (0%) fs: swap dev: /dev/sdb2
When I search linux distribution for my PC , I have tried slitaz , but your support is better and russification

Although I've never done it, I would think it possible to do a Slitaz Frugal Install within the partition you have Antix installed on. Then you could use GRUB to boot into either one.

Another option would be to install Slitaz in a Virtual Machine...that way you could run both at the same time.

If it was me, I would re-partition sdb (80 GB) into three (3) partitions; two (2) of about 38 GB each as ext4 and 2 GB as swap. MX-14 final non-PAE and Slitaz will each have their own partition. The grub from MX-14 would need to be loaded in MBR so you can choose between Windows XP, Mx-14, or Slitaz.

Use the LiveCD for MX-14 and repartition the 80 GB into 2 partitions of 38 Gb and a partition for the swap files. Install MX-14 on sdb1 and install Grub on the MBR. Then remove the LiveCD and reboot. Grub will allow you to choose either Win XP or MX-14.

The next step is to install the LiveCD for Slitaz, reboot, and install Slitaz on sdb2, and DO NOT install the grub to MBR. (This way you only need to modify the grub.cfg in MX-14.) After you have rebooted and removed the Slitaz LiveCD, grub will now only show Win XP and MX-14 as your choices. Go into MX-14, and at the Terminal, update-grub. This will now include the Slitaz install.

After rebooting, Grub will now show Win Xp, MX-14, and Slitaz. Each OS has their own partition (The two Linux OS share the swap area.).

Tah-dah. Problem solved.

You can copy the files from your SliTaz live media into a directory on your Linux system & boot it via your grub config.

@jdmeaux1952 and another thank you. Slitaz 4.0 is lightweight , but version of program is old.Is it true ? My need : open pdf , djvu , and make screenshot (with select) , saving in text format txt and save very quickly. And browser like qupzilla : can do screenshot webpages. Internet wired dsl. For reading and analyzing. No other need. What do you recommend for me? Earlier version Antix base or slitaz?

I would use antix-core + xorg+ some-windowmanager-you-like
Then install qupzilla, and whatever you want.

OR:
Use the 13.5 alpha2 jwm spin. It is a good little system, just add the stuff you want.

I think I saw a comment somewhere that there is a new slitaz version coming in not so long? I am not sure.

Slitaz 4 is the most recent stable version. However, they have begun on a beta testing of version 5RC-1

SliTaz Cooking is more up to date (than 4.0) & usually stable, it is what I have been using.
(The first release of RC1 had some bugs still to be sorted out.)
