is there any way to share my harddrive of my antix box with other computers (vista) within the same LAN?

I have never had much luck getting samba sharing to work correctly in any Linux distro.
However, antiX contains an application called smbnetfs that will at least allow you to access all the other computers on your network from your workstation.
Here are the instructions:

Samba takes some fiddling but seems to work well after getting it running. Here's a

that may help you decide if this is what you want to do or not.. It uses .rpm -based distros as the starting point, but the packages are also present in .deb-based distros.
A few years ago I bought a small NAS box that USB drives plug into. Simplifies my network and offloads the work onto a dedicated (and tiny) box. Now Cirago makes one for $50 that handles up to 4 USB drives. It's a little clunky but works as advertised.
