For quite some time I happily shared my HP5550 printer on my 32 bit Antix-15 PC with my wife's windows laptop over wifi. That stopped working and I suspected the problem had to do with windows. But then I saw a message saying my computer didn't share any printers after all. Unfortunately I can't reproduce that message, but I do find contradictory information about the sharing status of my printer.
Now I have an experimental, brand new 64 bit Antix-16 installation, and the problem seems to persist.
[*] In Control Center/Hardware I press"Setup a printer", I select my HP5550. In the 'Print settings' dialog, I open the menu /Printer and enable the 'Shared' radio button.
[*] BUT - then I go to Control Center/system and press"System information". In the"System information" dialog, I choose /Devices/Printers, and there it says my printer is NOT shared.
How can I be sure my printer is really shared?
Then, in Control Center/Hardware I press"Configure mouse" and I choose a left handed button layout. This has no effect whatsoever. But in Control Center/System[Configure System] , under"locale" settings, there is also a"Change mouse order" option that can be set. That one works. If you ask me, it's a somewhat strange place to make mouse adjustments.
