Hello,
I posted this in ML as well:

but I figured I may get some assistance here.
I'm finally redoing my simple personal web server:
PC Specifications: (Pretty sad)
Compaq Presario 7594
Processor Intel Celeron 566 MHz
RAM: 192 MB SDRAM
HDD: 10 GB
Eth0: Ethernet cable connected and works
LAN Specifications:
Router: DLink DI-524 (w/wireless)
I go to Mepis Network tools as usual, try to set a static IP and it doesn't save it when I hit Apply. It just blanks it back out and is unable to start"eth0"
I do get internet on the box when IP address is obtained automatically, just can't get it to save a manual entered static IP.
yes, I am using mnetwork (the manual setup) instead of the auto. Any suggestions to remedy this???
V/R,
Nats

You may need to shut off the dhcp server in the router to avoid conflicts.
