When I try to boot the cd I end up with the following message and then it freezes.
updating fstab ... ls: /dev/dvd*: nosuch file or directory
rm: cannot remove '/dev/dvd*: nosuch file or directory
done
Segmentation fault
Any ideas how to get around this?

I was getting this"seg fault" message when I first installed Lysistrata. I reburned the iso at a slow speed 4X and tried again with success.

Yes , I am able to boot other distros on this laptop. I don't have a DVD player as it is an"old" laptop. I had it installed to the HD and the seg fault popped up again. I got the Seg Fault a few times when I initially tried to boot the disk and got around it with the"all-generic-ide-irqpoll" cheat I found on the forum.anticapitalista wrote:Not seen this one before.

No, it is not up & running right now. It was working for a while so I loaded it onto my HD. That worked for a couple of reboots while I was trying to get my wireless USB working. Then I got the Seg Fault error message on my HD install. It seems to me that the Cd is looking for a DVD drive and my system is too old for that. I'm going to try a new CD burn. Let me know if you think of anything else. Thanks for your assistance.

I tried and was successfull loading the CD & installing the OS with the"failsafe" method of booting. I was connected to the internet with a pcmia ethernet card. When I switched to my USB wireless card and tried to boot I got the Segmentation Fault error Msg again. Apparently it does not like my 2Wire USB Dongle or what ever you call them. Any ideas? Let me know.
