I have just installed Luddite 13.2 from a 1Gb USB, which is working very nicely (running from stable repository), and updated all software and then added LXDE as a desktop. I installed with no Antix options (I deleted the default"MLX" since I thought this might be causing my trouble).

However, I cannot get power management to work (I have installed xscreensaver and also xfce power manager), which blanks the screen but I the computer never suspends as I would like.

I tried turning on ACPI and ACPI supp, still without success.

It is a relatively minor problem (the system otherwise works great - the only software which will run Flash video on this old 2.4 GHz Pentium without shaky video display), but I would like my system to suspend automatically when I am not using it to save power.

Thanks for any help. This is a great distribution!

Maybe check your BIOS settings (?).

change them: usr/share/applications/xfce4-power-manager-settings.desktop

Code: Select all

OnlyShowIn=XFCE;
in
