I've been having a look through the icewm menu on antiX M8 and came across rxvt-unicode. What does this do?

It's under Multimedia-Audio-Music Client, but when I click on it nothing seems to happen and from what I've seen by searching for information it's a terminal emulator rather than a music player.

Thanks

That menu item opens ncmpc running in a urxvt terminal with mpd running (music player daemon)

If mpd is not running then you'll see the terminal open then quickly close.

To get mpd to run as root in terminal

/etc/init.d/mpd stop
/etc/init.d/mpd start

Ah, that explains it. mpd is disabled in /etc/default/mpd. I'd seen the message while booting up but since everything seemed to work, hadn't worried about it.

Thanks!
