Russia is not to blame for the situation in Ukraine. They didn't support the coup on the legitimate president. They also didn't force the Ukrainians to either choose between good relations to Russia or the EU. The West did.
Some western politicians declared that it would be illegitimate for people in Eastern and South Ukrainian to vote on more autonomy from the Ukrainian government. Although the west supported something similar in Sudan and with Kosovo. It doesn't breach international law if people of a region decide their own fate. In fact it happend almost every year in the last thousand years that borders changed in Europe (

^^ Yes, pretty much that. Mainly the first paragraph.
Every other day there is a sane person in german TV (talk-shows, etc), and they know the subject (East-Europe) for ages. They too confirm that the EU borked this big times.
My English ain't well enough to really explain it, but the ones who are willing to find out will be able to find out. The ones who play the old violin of anti-russian propaganda, the only violin they know, terrorism is not en vogue anymore, huh?, won't be convinced by arguments anyay.
A good start would be to check at wikipedia how many wars Russia has been involded in the last 50 years, and how many wars the West, mainly the US, have been involved in.
That doesn't make Putin a lover of freedom or democracy. But it is never a bad idea to first clean up the own house, and then"disabuse" the neighbor. Else it looks a lot like a double moral standard (We murder collateral, we torture, we go for war, one after the other, but anyone else who does what we don't like is a terrorist or a criminal).

This bill is to re-invigorate NATO and increase the US presence in Poland and the Baltic countries.
