I'm getting that right now too. It just means Dave Server is down at the minute. Try it again later.

This means the gpg key to sign the debs and the repo has expired. I will be fixing this later today, there will be a new key that needs to be downloaded / added to the apt key archive.

I guess I'm getting the same thing:
W: Failed to fetch

linktext was:"http://www.daveserver.info/antiX/debs/d ... /InRelease"

url was:"http://www.daveserver.info/antiX/debs/dists/testing/Release.gpg"
linktext was:"http://www.daveserver.info/antiX/debs/d ... elease.gpg"
====================================
Unable to connect to http://www.daveserver.info:http:

W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Do I have to do anything or will it sort itself out?

ok should be fixed now.
You will need to run this command on your computer though
keymissing=452F0C20 && gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys $keymissing && gpg --armor --export $keymissing | apt-key add - && apt-get update

Uhm, simply that I cannot remember the expiry date I typed in..... So the key expires __{{emoticon}}__ .
I am not sure how a"bigger" distro handles their repositories, but I am almost certain that it is not how the antiX repo is managed.
Surely"bigger" distro's must have a dedicated repository server and"maintenance staff", where as the antiX repo not so much.
I think"bigger" distro's handle the keys with a deb, so slightly before the key expires a new key deb is released to install the new key.

I cannot speak for everyone here.
Myself; I try to put together whatever little bit I can, and stay on top of things the best I can to help improve.
Unfortunately this does not work out as well as I would like to see __{{emoticon}}__ . (example above: later today = tomorrow afternoon __{{emoticon}}__ )

Thanks Dave for all the work you do running Dave Server.

Maybe if you had a millionaire funding antiX like Ubuntu does, eh? __{{emoticon}}__

But then the antiX team spends time asking us what we want in the development thread and asking"does this work" unlike Ubuntu which forces Unity on you, for example, whether it works for you, or not.

You and the antiX team do a really excellent job and thanks to all of you.

I have no idea what any of this meant but it ran like smoke.

keymissing=452F0C20 && gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys $keymissing && gpg --armor --export $keymissing | apt-key add - && apt-get update

If only computers were always this easy:D - Thanks Dave!

dmk

Umm - well it certainly ran like train but I'm now getting this message

W: GPG error:
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://www.daveserver.info"
linktext was:"http://www.daveserver.info"
====================================
testing InRelease: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY DB36CDF3452F0C20

EDIT2: It was easy. I'd updated one computer but not the netbook. I guess you'll want to strip me of my medals (fairly good latrine cleaner Etc) & echelons, break my mop, tip my bucket over my head and consign me some dank. Algerian, prison fortress for the rest of my ;life.

I deserve it!
