Hello. I did an update recently and synaptic installed a few brasero and totem components. I have neither installed on my system. My guess is that, like in ubuntu distros, these are default gnome apps and therefore are part of the update process. Any ideas?
BTW - I should be able to remove at least some of the components via apt-get, but I may not be able to find them all.

If you look in /var/log/dpk.log you might find out the culprit.
I noticed that installing rox-filer on the antiX-core iso pulls in iceweasel (!?)

The last time I noticed, Totem isn't a dependency of Gnome anymore (nor Rythmbox). Synaptic by default installs recommended packages but you can uncheck that in its preferences.

A bit off topic, but yes I've noticed some odd dependencies. Like when installing gnumeric (or is it abiword?), evince comes along for the ride.

P.S. I'll look into the log files when I'm in antiX again.
