For those of you with antiX-M8.5-rc1 or rc2, I have uploaded 2 delta patches rc1-rc3 and rc2-rc3.
Applying the patches to the original.iso (see

anti,

the xdelta from rc1 to rc3 did not work for me. xdelta complained of non-matching file sizes. It was looking for an iso in the 495000000 bytes range and the rc1 iso I have is in the 492000000 byte range. However, the rc2 to rc3 xdelta worked fine.

thanks.

Just to add that there is now a rc3-rc4 delta.
Hopefully this fixes the pcmcia card problem(s) on livecd.
It also includes xine-ui and gxine as mplayer was/is buggy. (mplayer/gnome-mplayer is still on livecd)

Thanks for the info Anti. I will burn another cd (I might try making a bootable USB first though and try using my Smart Boot Manager Floppy to see if I can do a boot from uSB first) I will update how things go later today. Good Luck with the job interview,

anti,

Your a bloody genius, don't know what you did, but first boot with the rc4 and pcmcia card was detected, ceni connected using wpa, I'm a happy camper now.
Thank you anticapitalista.

posting from RC4 - looks good so far.

Am really new to using this xdelta method and while it's really cool, I'd be more comfortable if md5sums were available for all iso versions, specifically the md5sum for RC4 is missing at this time.

Thanks for the new toy to play with.

Sweet!!

vince,

If you use xdelta info (patchname, ie, antiX-M8.5-rc3-rc4.delta) you can see the information on the patch, and the md5sum is there also.

Code: Select all

bobbylee@blbdesk:~/Downloads$ xdelta info antiX-M8.5-rc3-rc4.delta
xdelta: version 1.1.3 found patch version 1.1 in antiX-M8.5-rc3-rc4.delta (compressed)

I had a look in my rc2 install and at first mplayer (GUI) did work to play a DVD but after some errors it eventually didn't even open anymore (I don't know where the problem is; I deleted ~/.mplayer and even rebooted but gmplayer won't start anymore). It works apparently perfectly when called from the command line (mplayer, not gmplayer).
xmms plays cd ok, as usual.

I booted the rc4 live-cd and the ptBR localization seems fine except for the ROX translation which is the original (bad) one.

Damn, I'm sure I copied over the rox.mo.

It will definitely be in final. (The one I have from you is 102K)

You have the right one, anti (103,498 bytes as said in Windows). Maybe from rc3 to rc4 it reverted back again...
