Does spacefm by any chance use gvfs? I happened to notice gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor and gvfsd running in htop, and out of curiosity began to dig around a bit. I am assuming this after killing the processes and opening spacefm and mounting something and seeing those processes reappear. Apart from that I was just looking for a conformation to my assumption. Thanks.

gvfs is not a dependency for spacefm or udevil. Try removing gvfs from synaptic & see what programs it wants to remove.
