why is that when I log on as root at the begining of the session there is nothing that shows for me to navigate or start a xterminal only a top like app running.
how do i get the menu just like when a logon as a regular user. __{{emoticon}}__

Simply put, don't login as root __{{emoticon}}__

If you insist, then you need to copy the files in home/username (including the hidden . dot folders/files) to the root folder.

I have to ask, WHY do you want to log in as root?
