Hello:
My main laptop (which I use for my work) is running antix 8.2 with stable repos only. Has been that way for many months. I find that some packages I need are in testing and so I can't use them (or have to use another computer to do the same job). It's time to upgrade to newer versions of the apps.

So my question:

How safe wii it be to open up testing repos, update and upgrade? Since I have a fair number of apps installed (and data files), I would prefer not to wreck this system.

thanks.

Regarding a regular upgrade from Lenny to Squeeze, you have some info at
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://www.debian.org/releases/testing/releasenotes"
linktext was:"http://www.debian.org/releases/testing/releasenotes"

There may be yet antiX's own issues.

Yikes, a work laptop! plvera, if you just want to try out some apps, I can offer one of my test-boxes here, ie I'll do it, try to make things go kaput re your orders.

@secipolla: thanks for the link. It looks like I better back up if I decide to upgrade

@drg: thanks for the offer, but I'm not really looking to test (I have an old, beat up sorry laptop for that). I really wanted to upgrade to get newer version of apps. It's my own laptop, I just do all my work there so I call it"work laptop". Seems like a backup and wait for the next antix release might be the best option. Thanks again.

Pedro.
