Hi everyone,
time again to ask for a helping hand. __{{emoticon}}__
I have been playing around with fluxbox and icewm a little and I think I have found a look I really like. With the Rox-Icewm setting though, I do have two little problems maybe one of you could help me solving. Oddly (to a semi-newbie like me), these problems do not occur in the ordrinary icewm mode (without desktop icons).
First, I installed the gnome-power-manager and it works fine in an icewm-session. In Rox-icewm the battery tray icon does not show and when trying to start the power manager in the terminal virtually nothing happens, not even a message in the terminal. When starting the power manager as root, I get the following message:
root@Travelmate426:/home/Patric# gnome-power-manager
TI:14:45:15 TH:0x949e8b8 FI:gpm-main.c FN:main,230
- This program cannot start until you start the dbus session service.
This is usually started automatically in X or gnome startup when you start a new session.
Traceback:
gnome-power-manager() [0x80629fb]
gnome-power-manager() [0x8056d07]
/lib/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe6) [0xb6d79c76]
gnome-power-manager() [0x804e931]
root@Travelmate426:/home/Patric#
The second minor problem I have is with the startup sound. I changed the startup sound in the startup file of fluxbox and icewm to one that is more pleasant to me. In fluxbox and icewm everything works fine, in Rox-icewm I get no sound at all.
I can remember that changing the wallpaper in Rox-Icewm was not as easy as changing it in ordinary icewm, but I am quite stuck here.
Any ideas how to deal with this are greatly appreciated.
Thanks to everyone in advance.

Hi again,
the problems described above are somewhat solved. I just started the ordinary icewm-session and uncommented the rox-pinboard line in startup. Now I have the desktop icons, gnome-power-manager and the startup sound running. Not the most elegant solution maybe but it works. Bit weird to me though.

Not a big fan of using rox pinboard. I stay in Icewm or Fluxbox. Icons aren't my thing.
Anyways. In the Help section in Menu there is
