I have just downloaded antiX-13 Luddite and verified it using the Md5 check sum. Burnt it to a CD at x4 speed and all appeared to be successful - well, there were no errors reported!

Tried to run it and received the folowing error:

Error: bb00 reading sector 344441
No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found

I then get a black screen with

Boot and a flashing cursor

Note: This is the second download and burn I have made. Got the same errore message the first time, even though the MD5 checksum reported there were no errors on the CD.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Could be a defective cd drive. Can you boot from a usb device or try another cd drive? Or evne boot from the iso if you have another linu install?

I got that when I installed to a SDHC card; it turned out to be the wrong drive designations in grub.
I had to edit them all by hand & remove all UUID's to get it working. (i386 / 13 base from pendrive)
Sorry, not a clue why it would happen with a cdrom though.

Not sure this helps with the reported issue.

Here antiX-13-Full has just been installed via CD and during initial testing seems to be working pretty much as expected.

I have had the same issue before, I used a CD drive cleaning kit, and it worked for a short time. After the drive had read errors again. I just replaced the drive.
