I've not had any problems connecting my wifi with the new 2.6.27 kernel in Ubuntu 8.10 and it's distros. Why am I having a problem with it in AntiX-M8. I've only been able to find the Wicd app, but manually entering in the IP, Netmask and so on doesn't seem to work. Is there a program I can install that'll automatically find my wireless router with the dongle?

antiX comes with 3 apps that can work as wireless managers - wicd (Connect Wirelessly), ceni (Configure Network Interfaces), and mnetwork (Manage network Interfaces). All these can be accessed from the antiX control center on the network tab.
Anyway, I have not connected to wireless since upgrading to 8, but with 7, I could never connect using anything but ceni. I prefer rutilt for connecting; it can be installed using synaptic or apt-get.
In a console you can type lsusb as root, and post what your dongle is, in case you need help configuring the device. Sometimes wireless drivers need to be blacklisted for others to work.
PS. I just looked at these in 8 and they all have some improvements, so maybe this time... __{{emoticon}}__

I'm also having very frustrating problems with my wireless. Everything was working just fine at home last night on my WPA connection but today at work I can't get my laptop to connect to the WPA up here. My iPhone will connect and browse so it's not the router. And I reset the cable modem and router just for good measure.
I actually have two different mini-PCI cards, an Intel PRO 2200 & an Intel PRO 2915 and neither of them will work now. Wicd and mnetwork never did work but ceni worked great 'til now. RtilT also shows that I'm up and running. I have an IP address and everything.
Help?!
