I have an base install of antix12 with a locally USB attached printer, a Canon imageClass MF4150, that I had to install a separate printer driver for because it is not native in CUPS.
For some reason when I go to print, it can take up to 2-3 minutes to process the print request and pegs my CPU at 100%. I always get my print job to complete but it is unusually slow compared to other distros (including antiX) I have had on the same PC (Pentium 4, 2.66GHz, with 512MB RAM).
Is there a way to increase the priority of the print service and/or any other suggestions would be appreciated?
Thanks.
