I try to get a hp M1319f work. HPLIP installation at localhost didn't help. It doesn't print and gets a"rendering completed" message. What I have to do?

As regards the scanner part, is there any chance to get it work? Thanks.

I would try looking at hplip again.
I had an older multifunction HP that required most of the hplip items listed in synaptic.
As a multifunction device , you will need.
hplip
libsane
sane
sane-utils
Sane is the stuff for the scanning portion of the device.
There might be a couple other things , but my memory fails me right now.
A program to scan with like simple-scan or similar would be needed also.
Let us know how you make out.

It didn't work. Simple scan gets the message

Code: Select all

"Failed to scan. No scanners available. Please connect a scanner"
And the printer doesn't work, too.

Use the meta-installer to install printing (HP) stuff.
Then see if it works.

Despite the errors and the fact that the test page was not printed, finally the printer worked after having replaced the old default by the new one at Control Centre. And scanner works, too. I'm very glad about this. Until now, I hadn't found a distro light enough for my old machines and also get my scanner work. Now, there is at least one: antiX. Thanks a lot.
