Clearly, something must be done. It is outrageous that just anyone – even kids! – can buy a dangerous pressure cooker without a background check or even showing ID. There is no waiting period and people – potentially unbalanced and dangerous – can legally buy multiple pressure cookers. Just like that!

“We” need pressure cooker control!

Call your government representative now before it's too late!

I agree, this has been going on too long.
They need to do some serious background checks on people who try to buy kitchen appliances.

Keerist Rust Collector, they put a whole major American city under martial law for a complete working day and nobody bats an eyelid?

I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy in this quarter of the world to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain.

Patrick Henry (1736–99)
The federal government has sure become what it once hated so much.

Well it appears that America is now taking this suggestion seriously.

Not to be outdone by the hundreds of Californians who recently signed a petition to authorize a government sponsored door-to-door confiscations of firearms, college students in Miami-Dade county have stepped up in the interest of America’s safety and security to ban another hazardous weapon of mass destruction – the common kitchen pressure cooker.
Maybe I had better find some place to hide my pressure cooker before things get really out of hand __{{emoticon}}__

This does not mean they are not watching. Actually I am relieved because I couldn't believe they would be so stupid as to demonstrate their surveillance capabilities to the world over a lead like this."Not stupid" is always good, even for people who you think are your enemies or adversaries.

Goodwill and Salvation Army stores are good for acquiring kitchen appliances. Been doing it for years.

Same same with fertilizer out here in the country. It is easy to get also. Now where did I place that reloader?

I've got a 5 liter Kuhn Rikon and I use it all the time. I'm a mile up, not far from the Continental divide, so a PC makes cooking much quicker. I tend to stay away from cooking spicy things in it because the gasket seems to absorb the flavor.

I didn't know they had a different chorizo in mexico... it looks a lot more usable (in a dish) than the dry spanish one

Alan, some batted an eyelid and are"talking about 'talking about' sumpin needs a be done" but I don't see any wouldbe-martyrs standing up

Not in miami, at sea level... but aren't those devices a necessity for cooking
by people living in areas of high elevation?
I don't know the exact numbers, but at 4000(?) ft elevation, water boils at only 188F, right?
