Forgive me if I've asked this -- I'm old and I forget. Using MX, the XFCE desktop version of Antix. Has anyone figured out how to install popcorn-time in MX? Thanks.

I run it out of the folder from the site"PopcornTime"
I download the tar.gz from their site to my /home/user name
I extract there also.

Then go in the extracted folder and left click on the popcorn time launcher provided to make sure it works or run it from terminal inside of that extracted folder. I make my own launcher in Fluxbox,JWM, and Icewm to launch it from the menu or tool bar.

I do this in AntiX 15 Killah though. Not MX-14. Maybe Jerry can give you the correct Mepis way to do this as my way is more down and dirty. I run computers like my motorcycles. I run it like I had stole it.

Problem running it my way. You have to re-download popcorntime every time they update it at their site.
Then extract that tar.gz again and say yes. Overwrite the original. Manual updating at it's finest. __{{emoticon}}__

Here is another way also:

Might be better for you to use the above way as it will update through your package manager.

1) Mepis is dead, RIP; 2) I haven't a clue how it is done in MX; so 3) I recommend you post this on

where there are a number of people who work with video.

I did a quick search over there and it seems the question has never come up, so it should be interesting to see what happens. Rok's method may be the best for all I know...

Thanks to all. I've posted to the MX forum. I'll let everyone know what transpires.

Best.

Now 3 hours later and I don't see it. I can see that you registered OK, but no post is visible or pending approval from you and your personal page says you have made zero posts.

Perhaps it would be best to do it again, making sure that you click"Submit" at the end and then can see your post.
