I would like to play DVD movies on my laptop with antiX. The DVD's work fine on Windows 7 (same laptop), but don't work at all with antiX. Do I need to download or install something for that? Is there an application in Synaptic Package Manager for that, and if so, what is the name I should look for? If I have to download from the internet, I'd like step-by-step instructions if it's going to be difficult.

The laptop is and older one, a Dell Latitude E6400.

You just have to configure gnome-mplayer. This might help.

You may need to add drivers or codecs on certain systems. If you do not already have libdvdread3 installed, make sure it is installed and usually a DVD will play once the necessary libraries are configured.
