I couldn't play commercial DVD's in antiX14 until I installed libdvdcss2 (paste"sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2" into Terminal) and now I can play them using Totem Movie Player. (Couldn't get VLC or Gnome MPlayer to play them, tho. Go figure.) So, problem solved.

there is also the mx-restricted-codecs app which will install it for you.

interesting about vlc...I've not had any issues.

there is already an app in the menu, just run the app.

AHA! MX Codecs Installer in"System" of Whisker Menu. found it. seems awfully slow, though.

it pulls more than just libdvdcss2. there are some proprietary ms codecs among other things.
