I wonder why suddenly the Gimp is offered by Synaptic. Did I do something wrong or is it on purpose __{{emoticon}}__

For some reason an upgrade will also include gimp.
I think it is due to a libsvg file getting upgraded.
A bit of a pain, but a necessity in order to dist-upgrade

i remove them after they are installed. before you do that check if one of the new installed packages don't remove other packages. i had removed gimp and gimp-data and gimp-data-extras as i recall. and today apt-get installed foomatic-db foomatic-db-engine netcat netcat-traditional. i removed them as well. and when i update again apt-get doesn't want to install them again.
