I got a notification when opening Opera that I can upgrade to Opera 10.0.
My Question is they have 2 different deb pkgs. One for Mepis. And one for Debian Lenny/Etch/Squeeze/and Sid.
I think I should use the Debian pkg as my sources list states lenny. But before I download it I want to make sure I am right in thinking I need Debian instead of Mepis pkg.

Also to install said pkg. Is All I need to do is a

Code: Select all

#dpkg (name of Opera package)
Just wondering.

They actually list Mepis as an option?? Either will probably work for you but I would more than likely go with the Debian option since antiX is more closely tied to debian especially it you moved to sid or strickly testing.

Well I bit the bullet and went ahead with the Debian Lenny Version of Opera 10 package and downloaded to my Desktop in Icewm. Did a

Code: Select all

# cd Desktop
/Desktop# dpkg -i (name of Lenny pkg)
No errors. Opened up Opera. It is now updated from 9.64 to 10. Using it now to follow up on my post. Runs faster than 9.6 also. The turbo option on lower l/h side of taskbar is a neat option.
