Hi, I first installed bumblebee when I had kernel 3.6 and it worked fine.

I need help for 2 things, first to fix the nvidia gpu, which stopped working when I upgraded the kernel.

Code: Select all

  Kernel:
3.7.8-antix.1-amd64-smp
  Command: optirun glxgears
 output:
[ 5174.388813] [ERROR]Cannot access secondary GPU - error: [XORG] (EE) [drm] failed to open device

[ 5174.388950] [ERROR]Aborting because fallback start is disabled.
My other gpu is Intel HD 3000 and when I try to glxgears I get this:

Code: Select all

Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual
PS. My second gpu is Nvidia gt540m.

Did you use smxi/sgfxi to reinstall the drivers?

I just did that, I still can't use glxgears in both gpu's, and I installed the drivers for both.

It's actually worst now, my screen is going up and down like scrolling.. when I move my mouse to the bottom.. so wierd.

The resolution changed..

Not sure if it still works, what version are you asking for? kernel or driver?

Kernel: 3.7.8-antix.1-amd64-smp

For some reason the nvidia messed up the intel's driver.. not sure how to solve this, I want to completly remove nvidia or something to use only the intel hd 3000.

the driver version I think it's the 304.

EDT: On the boot it used to"flash" the screen or something. it changed the resolution while loading before going to the login part.
now it doesn't do that.. it still changes the resolution, but only on the startx part,. and it's wrong resolution :\

PS. How do I remove nvidia completly and reconfigure intel? for some reason intel is not working anymore..

EDT: I'm now on the older kernel... same issue :\

You can use smxi script to remove it.

I meant which version of antiX?

If using smxi doesn't fix it, it might just be quicker to re-install and don't upgrade the kernel.

I installed the intel driver and removed all the nvidia stuff with smxi, but then I noticed the xorg.conf, and I don't know why it created that file..

I remove the xorg.conf and startx worked, but I think there is something wrong with the xorg settings, how do I reconfigure it?

EDT: libdrm-nouveau1a libgl1-mesa-dri xfonts-75dpi xfonts-scalable xorg
xorg-docs-core

I'm installing those packages, I hope it fixes the intel gpu.

EDT: Woow.. intel now works.
glxgears
7373 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1474.564 FPS
7960 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1591.994 FPS

BUT.. I'm still so mad at this ridiculous resolution, the screen moves when I push the mouse down... !!!!!!

Resolution:
xrandr
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 1280 x 768, maximum 1280 x 768
default connected 1280x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
1280x720 0.0
1024x768 0.0
800x600 61.0
640x480 60.0
1280x768 0.0*

Resolution should be 1368x768(I think..)

Please help me, there must be a way to get the resolution's back.. I'm not even using a xorg.conf file.. and I never did.

smxi/sgfxi creates the xorg.conf file.

what is in the boot grub menu?

If you use nouveau driver, remove the nomodeset options.

THANK YOU, that fixed everything except the optirun.

It says [ 313.820626] [ERROR]Cannot access secondary GPU - error: [XORG] (EE) Failed to load module"nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)

Their solution may work.

NVIDIA Optimus and Bumblebee support
Sabayon 11 gained out of the box support for NVIDIA Optimus through Bumblebee (and bbswitch). Optimus systems are automatically detected and configured on your behalf if a NVIDIA GPU, an Intel GPU and NVIDIA proprietary drivers are installed
